A.1 UPDATES
==============================================================================

==============================================================================
A.2 WARNING AND GAMESHARK VERSIONS
==============================================================================
These codes will only work with Gameshark versions 3.1 or better. Using codes
can damage your save games especially if you put in the codes wrong. So use
them at your own risk !!!!

The codes have been tested using COBI version only

==============================================================================
A.3 INTRODUCTION
==============================================================================
Dragon Warrior Monsters 2 is a great "monster catching game". Like most, I've
beaten the game without codes because they're not needed however I'm also
very curious on the game data as a whole.

==============================================================================
1.0 CODES - GENERAL
==============================================================================
Because I don't have the authority to post these codes, and even though I've
done them, its best if the people recognised for getting the codes be shown.
This means I'll list the links to the main site for the codes.

==================================================================
1.1 ITEMS - Visit http://dwm2united.cjb.net/  - GameShark Section
==================================================================
The code listed on that page changes the first item in inventory, I may do
codes for the rest in time

==================================================================
1.2 GOLD  - Visit http://dwm2united.cjb.net/  - GameShark Section
==================================================================
The code listed is a good one :)

==================================================================
1.3 KEY CODES
==================================================================
You will be shown how to ADD new keys because attempting to change a key you
already have won't have an effect.

There are 4 gameshark Addresses that MUST be changed for the codes to work.
    - Special Data
    - Prefix
    - Suffix
    - Enemy Level
I call these Data Codes, you don't really need to be told what they are only
that you will need to change ALL 4 for any code to work.

-----------------------------------------------------
The Adventure Keys are the ones you get in the game as part of your quest.
Remember we need to change 4 Data codes, Special Data, Prefix, Suffix and
Enemy Levels

       - Special Data is 0A for the Brawn Key
       - Prefix is FF for Adventure Keys
       - Suffix is FF for Adventure Keys
       - Enemy Level is 80 for Adventure Keys

    2. Find the Gameshark Codes for Key in slot 6

       | 01??1DC7 | Suffix          |
       | 01??1EC7 | Enemy Levels    |
       +----------+-----------------+

    3. Now replace the ??'s with thier correct data codes
       01 0A 1BC7 - Special Data is 0A for the Brawn Key
       01 FF 1CC7 - Prefix is FF for Adventure Keys
       01 FF 1DC7 - Suffix is FF for Adventure Keys
       01 80 1EC7 - Enemy Levels is 80 for Adventure Keys

    4. Now Enter the Codes you just did into your GameShark

1.3.02  Magic Keys
-----------------------------------------------------
The Magic Keys don't play a part in the game but are excellent places for
getting monsters and for plain out mayhem of bashing :)
Remember we need to change 4 Data codes, Special Data, Prefix, Suffix and
Enemy Levels

Magic Keys use Prefix/Suffix to produce a different number of worlds.
Things like, YlwCave and LastStar are examples of Magic Keys

    1.3.02a  Magic Keys - Example
    -----------------------------------------------------
    Lets say you had 5 keys and wanted to make the 6th Key a LastLord Key

    1. Find the 4 Data Codes needed
       - Special Data is 00 for Magic Keys
       - Prefix is 0F for "Last"
       - Suffix is 0A for "Lord"
       - Enemy Level we'll make 01 for Level 1 Monsters

    2. Find the Gameshark Codes for Key in slot 6
       +----------+-----------------+
       |  Codes for Key in slot  6  |
       +----------+-----------------+
       | 01??1BC7 | Special Data    |

2.0 MONSTER CATCHING CODES - LORD LADON
==============================================================================
To see Lord Ladon's full version of his codes visit DWM2 United and in the
GameShark Section. I have borrowed part of his Codes in this section.

==================================================================
2.1 THE BASIC CODES
==================================================================
There are 5 GameShark Addresses that simplify the catching of monsters which
I will list here

2.1.01 Number of Monsters you meet
-----------------------------------------------------
While you can change the number of monsters to 3, for catching purposes you
only want this to be 1
        ______________________________________________
       /                                              |
      |   0100DCCF : Meet 1 Monster in Next battle    |
       \______________________________________________|

2.1.02 Autojoin Code

Using this code will eliminate the need for Meat Treats

       /                                              |
      |   0100A1D8 : Auto Join monster 1              |
       \______________________________________________|

2.1.03 Monster Type Codes
-----------------------------------------------------
There are 2 Addresses that need changing for the right monster to join. You
will need to refer to the Monster Type Listing for the data for xx and yy
        ______________________________________________
       /                                              |
      |   01xxC9D1 : See Monster Type Listing for xx  |
      |   01yyCAD1 : See Monster Type Listing for yy  |

2.1.04 Family Type Code
-----------------------------------------------------
To make sure you have the correct monster, its family codes is also needed

==================================================================
2.2 THE BASIC MONSTER CATCHING CODE COMBINATIONS
==================================================================
To sum up the previous areas, the codes you need are listed below

      |   01yyCAD1 : See Monster Type Listing for yy  |
      |   01??CBD1 : See Family Type listing for ??   |
       \______________________________________________|

Listed in a later section are Listings you'll want to use for these codes

   : Monster Type
     This is the monster you want to join. Just search for the one you wish
     and grab both the xx data and the yy data
   : Family Type
     Again a listing has the information. While you're looking up the monster
     type, take a note of the family its in.

2.2.01 The CORRECT way to catch ANY monster
-----------------------------------------------------
If you enter the codes as listed above, you'll have problems catching some
of the monsters. So heres the way to catch ANY monster.

        FIRST : Activate these Codes
        ______________________________________________
       /                                              |
      |   0100DCCF : Meet 1 Monster in Next battle    |
      |   0100A1D8 : Auto Join monster 1              |

      |   01yyCAD1 : See Monster Type Listing for yy  |
      |   01??CBD1 : See Family Type listing for ??   |
       \______________________________________________|

While you are battling, the monster you're fighting will still look like
the monster before you activated the codes. Don't worry, thats normal.
Once the monster joins you'll see when you're naming it, the monster you
want will show up :)

        DEACTIVATE THE CODES ONCE YOU HAVE YOUR MONSTER

2.2.02 Catching Lamia, Dimensaur or Kagebou
-----------------------------------------------------
Using the method above, you can now catch these rare monsters. Just repeat the
process for catching the monsters.

        FIRST : Activate these Codes

       \______________________________________________|

        DEACTIVATE THE CODES ONCE YOU HAVE YOUR MONSTER

Just remember, the monster changes to the one you want after its joined

2.2.03 Old Gameshark Owners trick
-----------------------------------------------------
The basic problem with Older versions of a Gameshark is that it can't access
all the Game Shark Addresses, so heres a small trick for you if you want
the 3 Rare Monsters. It best to activate your codes in Oasis World.

        FIRST : Activate these 2 codes. The Curselamp Autojoins :)
        ______________________________________________
       /                                              |
      |   010ACBD1 : ???? Family Type                 |

        ______________________________________________
       /                                              |
      |   017EC9D1 : Kagebou Code                     |
       \______________________________________________|

        DEACTIVATE THE CODES ONCE YOU HAVE YOUR MONSTER

Just remember, the monster changes to the one you want after its joined

Unfortunately the Family Type may not work, just check your caught monster
to see if its a ???? family. If not then just go and catch another rare
hoping its the opposite gender :)

As you can see, the older Gamesharks miss out the 2nd value needed for the
monster. Its the 01 Data bit, so you'll need to find a monster which has it.
If you ever want a monster where the yy [See Monster Type Listing] is 01,
then just fight a Material or Water Family to catch them.

Example : The codes needed for DarkDrium for a V3.1+ are
        ______________________________________________
       /                                              |
      |   0171C9D1 : DarkDrium xx Code for v3.1+      |
      |   0101CAD1 : DarkDrium yy Code for v3.1+      |
      |   010ACBD1 : DarkDrium Family Type            |
       \______________________________________________|

Example : For Older Gamesharks this is
        ______________________________________________
       /                                              |
      |   0107DDCF : Fight a CurseLamp [in Oasis]     |
      |                ONCE IN BATTLE                 |
      |   0171C9D1 : DarkDrium xx Code for Older      |
      |   010ACBD1 : DarkDrium Family Type            |
       \______________________________________________|

While I've not tested any of the other codes, at least this section for you
older holders can be done :p

==================================================================
2.3 ADVANCE JOINING CODING
==================================================================
If you want to change more information on the monster joining your ranks then
use these codes. They go in at the same time you put in the Monster Type Codes

2.3.01 Gender
-----------------------------------------------------
Use only ONE of the following codes  :)
        ______________________________________________
       /                                              |
      |   0100CCD1 : Male Monster                     |
      |   0101CCD1 : Female Monster                   |
       \______________________________________________|

2.3.02 Best possible joining stats
-----------------------------------------------------
When a monster joins, the stats it gets is based on what it has when you
fought it. [Doesn't apply to some monsters]. By increasing certain stats
its possible to unfairly weight it's stats in your favor :)

Now I know there are limits on how many codes you can use, so if you need
to drop some, just use the [2] number codes as this gives 768.

Current HPs, Max HPs, Current MPs, Max MPs, ATK, DEF, AGL and INT are all
set to 999. When a monster joins you won't get 999 to all of your stats,
some will be less. These codes just give you the best opportunity for
higher than normal stats

You may want to use the Level Code when getting Dimensaur :p

3.0 IN-BATTLE MODIFIERS
==============================================================================
One of the most common gameshark codes is the ones which change the temporary
data. In this case its the In-Battle Modifiers. These happen when a battle
starts. The most commonly used is the Current HPs change. In-Battle details
are lost once the game goes back to normal.

These codes are put in BEFORE entering a battle

==================================================================

4.0 MONSTER DATA
==============================================================================
The data kept on your game for the monsters is generally "referred" to by the
programming. We'll attempt in this section to change that data for monsters
you may have.

==================================================================
4.1 FINDING THE DATA POSITIONS
==================================================================
The monsters in your team do not reflect how they are kept in the game data
over the period of time. Due to breeding or changing your monsters these
change. So we need to find out which monsters are in your team first.

4.1.01 Number of Monsters in your Team
-----------------------------------------------------
This address doesn't need to be altered, unless you want to remove a monster
from your team.
        ______________________________________________
       /                                              |
      |   01??FDC6 : Number of monsters in team       |
      |   -----------------------------------------   |
      |   0101FDC6 : Only have 1 monster in team      |
      |   0102FDC6 : Only have 2 monster in team      |
      |   0103FDC6 : Only have 3 monster in team      |

4.1.02 Changing the Monsters in your team
-----------------------------------------------------
This address is where you can change whom is in your team. This will show
you the true positions of how monsters are kept in your data.

The data needed here is a HEX number, so I've listed these below. They relate
to how the monsters appear in your game data. To avoid using codes for corrupt
data, NEVER put in a number higher than the monsters you have at the farm

      |   Change ?? in the above address to           |
      |   00 - For the  1st monster in your data      |

      |   02 - For the  3rd monster in your data      |
      |   03 - For the  4th monster in your data      |

      |   13 - For the 20th monster in your data      |

You will soon discover that EGGS will occupy space in your data.

4.1.03 Duping and Warning
-----------------------------------------------------
By being able to change the monsters in your team, you can effectively have
copies of the same monster in your team. HOWEVER a WARNING should be made
here. Don't try to breed with these copies or use the farm while the cheats
are on because it will eventually crash your game.

4.1.03a Example of Duping
-----------------------------------------------------
Lets say you want to dupe the first monster in your data. The best method is
to already have 3 monsters in your team, so you don't have to mess around
with an address.

Next use the codes to change the Monsters in your team. Lets say we want 3
copies of the 6th Monster in Data. The codes would be

        4.1.03b 3 Copies of Monster 6 in Data
        ______________________________________________
       /                                              |
      |   0105FEC6 : Change Monster 1 in team         |
      |   0105FFC6 : Change Monster 2 in team         |
      |   010500C7 : Change Monster 3 in team         |
       \______________________________________________|

When Experience points are shown, it will have it shared between the 3 dupes.
However what occurs is that Monster 6 in the Data will get the total
experience.

4.1.04 Farm Data not Game Data
-----------------------------------------------------
And just a final point, because EGGS occur in the data, the Farm isn't an
accurate reflection of how game data is stored. In DWM there are codes which
were made based on the monsters in the farm. Of course they remained accurate
until people started breeding. While the codes still worked, the changes were
made to monsters other than the ones listed.

So the farm doesn't reflect the physical game data. Only by changing the
Team Make-Up will you be able to truly see what monsters or eggs are in
each position.

4.1.05 Activation and Uses
-----------------------------------------------------
The codes should be ACTIVATED before entering a battle. They take affect
by bringing up the Game Menu. A use for this is to put in monsters from
the farm so they can gain experience, and saves you from trotting to the
farm to pick them up :)

DEACTIVATE the codes when you're BREEDING or visiting the FARM

9.0 SOME THOUGHTS
==============================================================================
While I do have codes for changing monster data, I'll probably wait until I
get all 20 positions before adding them. Thats why Theres no section 4 - 7

Unfortunately, many of the older gamesharks are limited in Addresses they can
alter, thats why most of the codes don't work. I also can not guarantee that
your game will be safe even with these codes :p
if yu have problems DO NOT EMAIL ME!!!
